Is it normal for a 4yo to always have loose stools?

My daughter was sent home from nursery the other day with a so called "upset tummy/diahorhoea". However her poo was actually no diferent to normal. It is always very loose (not formed!) and I have never actually taken much notice of this as she eats lots of fruit. My mum also thinks the colour is strange as it is quite dark.

I can't believe I'm discusing this but would welcome any opinions, should I take her to the doctors??

I'm no expert but my dd2 didn't do a solid one until I stopped giving her dairy products.

My ds was the same, always verging on diarrohea until I cut artificial sweeteners out of his diet.

dd is 4 years - usually soft but solid (sorry if TMI!). It doesn't take much to set her off though - an excess of fruit or fresh fruit juice make her stools quite loose.

Thanks for advice.

Dd doesn't like dairy products very much so doesn't eat many. However she drinks sugar free squash by the gallon load so I'll try to switch her to water instead. Thanks again!
