DS, 8, has a mark on his cheek that has become more noticable over time and we don't know what it is....

It's like a cluster of thread veins, although you have to look really closely to see that. There is no noticable centre to the area, iyswim. Unless you look closely it just looks like a pale red spot, but flat, about 1/2 cm diameter.

It's the sort of thing that comes and goes.....but this one hasn't gone, it's getting darker.

Any experience, anyone?

How old is ds?

FranSanDisco · 15/04/2008 22:50

Sorry! Can't read. I see he is 8. I was going to say if he was younger that veins do appear more noticeable in younger skin but just ignore me now Sorree!

Threadworm?

babalon · 15/04/2008 22:55

Hi, My DS1 who's 8 has a cluster of like spider veins on his cheek the appear when he was a toddler and as yet don't show sign's of going (size of a 5 pence peice) My DD had the same sort of thing on her upper eye lid just under the brow it disappeared a few years ago she's 11yrs now. I'm hoping same will happen with DS1. As long as it's not bleeding changing shape it's fine unless it bothers him later on

Ringworm or other fungal infection? Take him along to a pharmacy for advice, or the GP?
