Hi, I found out recently I have a hernia in my groin, it’s quite big and very painful, I’m struggling with it a lot. My GP has said I need surgery but this will have to wait till after I’ve had the baby. Other than that, I’ve been given… paracetamol.

I can’t walk up stairs, or at all really, I’m in so much pain. I work in a cafe, and my job involves a lot of walking lifting etc, and they cannot make any adjustments for me (no space for a seat behind the bar etc) and my GP is being beyond useless. They’ve said I can self certify for a week but I feel like I need more time, or more help? I’m in agony.

has anyone else been in this situation and what happened? work and my GP are just not supporting me, I’m scared about the hernia getting worse and generally feel sick from the pain. thank you.

Can you get a support truss thing? I had a groin hernia repair a few months ago - you def need to wait until you’ve given birth for the op for sure.
