Over the past four months I've dropped two dress sizes. I'm thrilled, in a sense, but I'm also a bit worried. I havne't been dieting but I just don't fancy eating nearly as much as I used to. I find I get heartburn like I've never had before (except in pregnancy).

Best case scenario -- It's because I'm doing a small amount of hatha yoga a few times a week and I have just reached an age where I don't want to eat as much.

More realistically .... ??

Definitely get to your GP - lots of treatable causes for heartburn and loss of appetite, including ulcers, hernias, and a very common infection I can't remember the name of (sorry, am knackered today ).

I had dreadful heartburn about six months after dd1 was born, chronic, ongoing, daily. Turned out to be a small hiatus hernia, and I now take Zantac daily - or rather nightly, before going to bed.

But do get checked, because an ulcer, for example, shouldn't go untreated
