NHS app no longer showing actual lab result

ehb102 · 20/07/2024 19:24

I just checked my NHS app and I can longer see the actual result of my blood tests, only that it is "normal". That's not helpful as "lab range normal" is much, much wider than the "range in which I function as a human". Is this the same for everyone else? If it is a local setting I need to talk to my surgery.

Is it maybe down too the global IT glitch?

Theunamedcat · 20/07/2024 19:26

It's been like it for ages pre IT glitch I feel my Dr's don't want me to know my actual test results because then I cannot challenge them on them

I've noticed this on a few of my results too. I cynically wondered pif it was to stop patients querying borderline results.

This wouldn't surprise me as the amount of queries now in GP re something a patient has read online is huge.

As its patient’s data, removing our own data from the app is likely to result in a huge amount of queries to surgeries, requesting manual updates. Seems a bit short-sighted.

Thanks, everyone. I will got to my surgery. I used to have to ring all the damn time and they would be twitchy about giving me my results "I'm not a doctor" - I don't need you to tell me anything other than the data. It's MY data, I am allowed to access it.

Update: it's there. I have no idea if it came back or if I just didn't see it last time. I no longer have the useful graph of my results that was in the previous app but the vital info is there, albeit in a wall of text.
