what is this that has appeared on my leg ?

my leg was aching when i went to bed but i never checked it and tried to ignore it woke up to worse aching and soreness to find this... anyone know what the hell it is? bug bite? blister ?

Looks like an infected bite of some kind, you might need antibiotics.

You aren't diabetic by any chance are you?

I might start by visiting a pharmacy and asking them to advise, but if you feel generally unwell or it gets rapidly worse, call 111?

I think you need to at least get a pharmacist to look at that, there is redness around it and I would be concerned it might be cellulitis.

went to the pharmacist who has prescribed antibiotics for an infected bite. the redness is worse now around it & more sore :-(

Some of these posts re squeezing it hav made me laugh though, i am unfortunately much too screamish to touch it sorry to say !

I would have to just at least wipe it gently to try to get rid of all that pus. The pus needs to go ..

Get that burst. Nothing to be screamish about.

I think it would feel a lot better with all that pus out of it. Maybe try a hot flannel over it to see if that draws it out

When the redness starts to radiate out it spells trouble, glad you got the antibiotics prescribed.

@moana1234 you need to draw a line round the redness, if it continues to spread you need to get it seen at out of hours or GP depending on the time

Use a warm water salt solution that you have boiled . (ie boil water , add salt , you need it to be cloudy , cool till it's warmish)
Use this on gauze to bathe it and it might draw it enough to burst it.

Looks like a bite ? I had one on my leg with was a huge blister but clear fluid not pus - red but don't think it was infected , I poked a sterile sharp in it but didn;t get antibiotics .

<Disclaimer - I'm not suggesting you burst this>

I’m sure it will burst when it’s ready then clean with cooled salt water.

Yeah, wipe it gently with a sterilised, fine needle in your hand, along with lots of kitchen roll. You won't feel a thing at the side.

a little bit has burst without me trying as felt a trickle down my leg... i think it is looking a bit less angry

Ooooooh that looks nasty, how does it feel? As painful? it does look more red than the first pic.
