2 months late with contraceptive and no period

I was doing the self injected contraceptive at home (like depoprovera). I last did it around 21st feb according to my calendar and have basically just forgotten all about it since then. I should have done another 12/13 week after.

I’m pretty certain I’m not pregnant as we’ve barely had sex and I’ve had zero symptoms (appreciate a test would be sensible) but I’ve had no sign of a period.

I had a coil for years then took it out, got pregnant straight away and started the shots after I had baby so I couldn’t tell you what a “normal” cycle would be for me.

As my period hasn’t returned and I’m 41, is it possible I’m entering early menopause?

Early menopause is a possibility at 41, as is pregnancy. If you've had sex just once, you could be pregnant. Do a test and keep us posted!

I would definitely do a test. It could be your body not having adjusted to not having contraceptive injections, it could be menopause, it could be pregnancy.

you can rule one out with a test and if it’s negative pop to your doctors.

if you don’t want to become pregnant you may want to look at alternatives to the injection.

I’ll try and remember to grab a test on my way to work today.

I obviously do need to sort better contraception that doesn’t rely on my memory as I simply don’t give it a second thought. Perhaps it will be the nudge my husband needs to get the vasectomy he keeps saying he wants to get.
