Present for nan in hospital?

My 80 yr old nan has just had an operation & has to stay in hospital for about 10 days. Any ideas on what might be a good present? I've never been to hospital except when the dds were born so don't really know what people need for a longer stay, iyswim. I would like to take something nice but useful to make up for the fact that I will probably only be able to visit the once!

thanks for any suggestions

Hi. First and foremost best wishes to your Nan for a speedy recovery.

When my Gran (then 93) and also MIL (60ish) were in hospital we took nice handcream as a gift as no flowers were allowed in MILs ward, and I didn't know what magazines to get, also my Gran was NIL by mouth. I actually think one of the nurses used to rub the handcream in for my gran and MIL had a mild stroke so I thought it might be useful?

Handcream and manicure set a great idea -they have some old fashioned/floral looking ones here plus similar looking washbags/cosmetic bags:

or perhaps a new nightie or bed jacket

or perhaps one of these:

plus a jigsaw or books of puzzles or something similar?

Hope she makes a speedy recovery ...
