Whiteness in mouth, don’t think it’s thrush

So Dd has white stuff/patches under her tongue and on the sides of her mouth. She says it feels like it’s growing up from under the skin. It’s hard and won’t scrape off. It’s slightly sore but not itching or burning. There is some red spots next to the white patch. She’s had it a week and is growing every day.

she does have autoimmune stuff going on so not sure if it’s related to that but she’s not had this before.

any ideas what else it might be apart from thrush?

and would she see a gp or a dentist?

Dentist would be my first thought. I have Oral lichen planus, an auto immune disease which causes white patches and lines in my mouth and saw my dentist for that.

Thank you, another auto immune disease would not surprise me as she seems to be collecting them.

It seem to be the way, sadly. Definitely get the dentist to check it out. They might do a referral to Maxillofacial at the hospital just to confirm (I’m still waiting for that).
