Anyone's tongue look like this?

I have been having issues with my tongue for a few months now, I have inflamed taste buds (the v shape bumps at the back of my tongue) and white patches in front of the bumps. Dr did a mouth swab which came back as oral thrush, did treatment for it but nothing seems to have changed. I also have lesions around the sides of my tongue (can kind of see a bit in the photo). I have another dr appointment on Monday but I'm getting really bothered by it. Some foods really make my tongue sore. I have seen the dentist who said my oral hygiene was fine. If anyone has had anything like this before what was it and how long did it take to resolve? It's really getting me down now and my drs are notoriously unhelpful so I don't have much hope for Monday 😞 thanks

Hopeful morning bump. Probably should have added that dr also did blood tests for deficiencies (iron, ferritin, folate, b12) and all came back normal

Not got the same problem but have you been tested for diabetes? I presume the GP will retest for oral thrush? Maybe changes in diet might help, cut sugar, yeasts, gluten, anything that yeasts (candida) feeds off.

Glass of warm water with a teaspoon of salt. Gargle repeatedly, spitting out, until the glass is empty. Repeat two or three times a day. It will sort out most problems.

I used to have geographic tongue which related to stress and ill health which once treated resolved. Not sure if similar but definitely had some patches, although also had shiny red patches too. The sides looked similar (like I’d bitten the edges of the tongue).

Thank you for the responses

@CherryRipe1 I hadn't considered diabetes, looked up other symptoms and I do have a few, obviously could be completely coincidental but I will raise with dr tomorrow.

@Relaxd I had seen about geographic tongue but wasn't sure, do you recall how yours started at all? Did it start in small patches then get bigger or did it just all happen at once?

You don't have geographic tongue.

My daughter has geographic tongue and its definitely not that. Geographic tongue looks like rosettes or a road map.

Hi @Relaxd

I have this too. Do you mind sharing what your resolved health issues were?

Thanks
