Sickness and rest - how do families do it?

Sick with Covid. One week in and I've been exhausted and sick enough to be in bed most of the time. Partner works for himself and has taken time off to do everything (we have two young kids, DS6 and DD20m). I am a SAHM to toddler who is home with me and older child is in school.

It's a lot, as looking after two kids is enough to exhaust both of us generally, so it's frustrating for him to have the full load (including getting up to the toddler for hours at night right now), and I feel frustrated and really guilty. No idea when I'll feel well enough to be fully functional again as I still feel crap.

How on earth do other people cope in this situation? Does Mum just get up and risk making herself worse? Do people take two weeks off at a time? Do other people find it a massive strain like we are? Just had a huge cry out of frustration and I just want life to go back to normal!

Currently have Covid with a 3 year old and 7 months old. 3 year old has recovered, but baby is still struggling. DH is currently working away and my mum, who is a great support, is also ill with Covid.

Just wanted to say I understand. I just want to be able to rest and sleep but I can’t. I’ve cried too so sending you love!

Oh my god @WednesdayWeWearPink , you have it much worse than I do! Your kids are younger and husband is away! Mine was away for the first two days of my illness, and it was awful, so I can't imagine how you're managing! Sending you love back and hoping you are all well really soon!

DH couldn't take time off-years ago- so I'd sit or lie on the sofa and let them watch tv and play around me. What else can you do?
