DS has chronic glue ear and after two lots of grommets (at 10 months and 2yrs) he now has mild to moderate hearing loss again. they now say a longer term solution is a hearing aid. I do agree it's a good idea but it's just such a shock- worried people will stare and judge him on it - please tell me how your DC's got on with hearing aids - did they wear them willingly? have you had any issues with them?

Will watch this with interest, but can't help unfortunately. Ds is supposed to get a hearing aid soon because of moderate hearing loss due to glue ear. They prefer doing this here over grommets, and I'm quite happy to go along with it, as it's only temporary and less intrusive?

a friend's dd has one - nhs was fab. she was allowed to pick colour (pink) and theme (high school musical). she is 6 so a bit older than yours, but all her friends think she is really cool, and have gone home asking if they can have hearing aids.
