Hi, I developed discoid eczema on my leg in 2020 after my daughter caught me on my leg with her jagged toe nail (don't ask) and it's getting worse all the time. My doctor referred me to a dermatologist as it got so bad who said it was caused by trauma to the skin and there is no cure but I can keep it under control with emollients and steroiids. Has anyone got any magical cures that have worked for them as I'm fed up with using steriod cream all the time and my legs look hideous and wearing jeans in this hot weather is awful? Anyone know of any magic creams or treatments? Thank you if you do Smile

Sorry that sounds tough. My daughter has discoid eczema and we’ve had surprising luck with Aveeno soothing baby emollient (dark blue lid). I don’t know what in it works but it clears her skin right up with daily application. This is in addition to removing all soaps from the bath and washing with dermol emollient. Plus switch to non bio washing detergent and avoid fabric softeners if you haven’t already.

@IShouldBeSleeping thank you so much. I will buy that on my next shopping trip. I haven't used non bio and no fabric softener for years already but thank you anyway Smile

Anybody got any miracle cure to make my legs something not out of a horror film?

My son had it as a baby. The doctor told me it was caused by an allergy and to do an elimination diet. He turned out to be allergic to dairy. Has never had it since, and he's now in his 30s.
