My DH has suffered from mouth ulcers for many years and tried many things. Does anyone have any remedies that have worked for you?

I swear by Adcortyl in Orabase. It's a paste that you put on the ulcer and because it has a small amount of steroid in it, it helps heal the ulcer much more quickly. It feels a bit weird in your mouth but I put it on an ulcer last thing at night and by morning, that horrible stingy sensation is eased a lot. You can buy it at any chemist, it costs less than a fiver and will last for ages. Hth.

Thanks sue DH uses Adcortyl also. He finds he gets a little relief, but once they get to a certain size it has no effect.

yy - what sue said. my dentist gave me some.

it's also thought mouth ulcers are down to stress/low immune system, so maybe he should think about chilling out/taking multi vits??

Oh dear, poor chap. As Theurbannixia says, maybe he needs to make sure his immune system is up to scratch. Has he tried Corlan pellets? They are little tablets of hydrocortisone which are dissolved on the ulcer. I do feel for him, ulcers are horrid.
