COVID temp not coming down with paracetamol and asthma

Hi
I've tested positive for COVID this evening after a day of feeling rotten. I test for peace of mind as my Nan who I see very regularly is awaiting dialysis. I have asthma that has needed steroids once this year and 1 hospital admission so far. Basically I've taken paracetamol and my temp isn't coming down -
Is this to be expected? Is there any increase risk for asthma? I have the standard vaccinations but haven't had a booster for a while.

Take ibuprofen every six hours and paracetamol every 6 hours, leaving a 3hr gap in between a dose of pain medication

Do you have a finger monitor thing to tell you your O2 sat?

How high is your fever?

Do you feel breathless?

If you’re okay to take ibuprofen then you can add that in as well (I can’t as it triggers my asthma)

What inhalers are you on at the minute?

have you had Covid before?

You could try and have a chat with an asthma nurse tomorrow perhaps? 111 might be able to help if your GP can’t fit you in

If you have been on steroids your immunity could be low. You might be in the category that qualifies for antiviral treatments. These are only effective if taken in the first few days.

You can ring 111 and ask about it and they will screen you and refer you on if you qualify. You would then have a phone consultation with a doctor and the medication would be delivered to your home.

I think given you have other health issues you should probably ring 111 for advice.
