Hello

Apologies for pic of my tongue.

It is really sore ... not candida i don't think.

At the tip it looks almost blistery and is scalloped.

Any ideas ? I am female and 48 years old .

Thankyou 😊

Hi @IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls I think this may be called 'geographical tongue'. Nothing to be concerned about but sometimes indicates inflammation. Is it usually textured/bumpy?

Is it dry? Menopause can cause dryness both orally and vaginally and this can make those areas very sore - Sjögren’s syndrome is common amongst menopausal women. If you do have Sjögren’s or just general dryness it may still be oral thrush as you may not have the saliva to produce the typically white coating.

Most likely vitamin deficiency, especially B vitamins, such as B12, folate (B9) and riboflavin (B2).
