Diazepam and citalopram

Hi just hoping someone can nswer a question for me. I have an appointment tommorrow at the dentist for an extraction and as i'm almost a dental phobic my dentist advised that i should see my GP to get some diazepam before the procedure to help mr to calm down. I had a phone consultation with my GP and she prescribed some for me. My dentist did tell me that he was'nt too sure about the citalopram and diazepam together and to ask my doctor, ut i forgot to ask. I know that most likely my GP would have taken that into consideration when prescribing the diazepam but i'm worried now that maybe she had'nt thought about it. I would phone and ask her but i don't want it to seem like i don't trust her judgement.

So just hoping that there are others that are taking citalopram and have had diazepam also.

Ask at the chemist when you pick it up

Not a doctor, but if two medications were incompatible together any doctor will have sorted that out before issuing the prescription. Check at the chemist as well, it's always better if you get told directly, isn't it? The pharmacist really will know, at least as well as the doctor.

what dose of diazepam?

I've to take 2mg tonight and then 4mg in the morning 2 hours before my appointment. I'm also breastfeeding my 15 month old albeit only a couple of times a day but i'm not sure about any problems there. I've never had diazepam before so don't really know what to expect.

don't think you need to take the 2mg tonight unless you won't sleep because you're scared?
just 4mg in am will be fine

Yeah my partner is coming with me. I'm due in at work at 5pm but i'm going to try to get the evening off, don't think i'll really be up to it.

I have taken both together, max doses of each. Good luck x
