Skin tag has turned black - can I remove it myself ?

I have a big skin tag that is now black. I don’t have an appointment before the 28/08 - is there a way to remove it myself ? Thank you (picture included)

Im sorry, Im not medical - but just wanted to check you are sure it’s a skin tag and not a tick (though I assume you saw the tag before it turned black).

Can you pop into a pharmacy for an opinion?

I went to the doctor to have it checked and was supposed to have it removed but she couldn’t do it. It was brown and it turned black over the last week ! It’s super gross !

I tie hairs round mine and they turn black then fall off on their own after a week or so.

On Amazon or eBay you can get skin tag removal kits cheaply. It's like a super tiny rubber band with an applicator that stretches it so it can go over the tag. It cuts off circulation so it dries up and falls off.

I get a lot of skin tags - looking at that I’d say it wasn’t long for coming off by itself. Just don’t pull it off if it hurts to do so - that way lies lots of bleeding.

I had one like this and it came off by itself, super gross but saved a trip to DRs!
