Weird red itchy lump on my stomach

Well I say lump, but it's more like a little raised patch, about the size of a 20p, and it itches like mad.

It is by the waistband of my jeans so i think that is making it worse, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I googled red itchy rash and it came up with Scabies , pretty sure it isn't that though, the rash looks different and it hasn't spread.

could you be allergic to the metal button on your jeans? nickel allergy?

I get the same, and it's because I am allergic to the inside of the button. I put a large, square (so it sticks all around) plaster on it to cover it. One of the fabric ones.

Or you could paint it with clear nail varnish.

I don't think it is that as the lump is to one side of the button, and also I have had these jeans for ages and not had a problem before.

Just trying to think if I have worn anything new with a button in that place.

I get an allergic reaction to nickle sometimes but weirdly not all the time. I can wear my watch for months with no problem and then suddenly get a reaction and have to take it off.

Avtually, you have just reminded me that I too sometimes get a reaction from my watch and then other times it is fine.

Perhaps it is that then. Will keep an eye on it and try not to scratch.
