last night I fainted on the loo

I had a bath last night (not especially hot) and went to bed. DH came up to bed about 1/2 and hour later and I got up to go to the loo. As I sat down I felt the blood drain from my head and the next thing I knew I woke up on the toilet but lying back against the cistern.

It was really weird, and a bit frightening. I went back to bed and DH gave me some water to drink and I was fine ( a bit shaky) and went to sleep.

I'm not really worried, as I feel fine today, but anyone got any ideas about why?

Could have been a drop in blood pressure or something like that. Perhaps you got out of bed a bit fast.

If it's a one-off then it's nothing to worry about, but if you start fainting more frequently then see the doctor.

I've had that light-headed feeling before from getting up too fast, but never actually passed out! It was a bit scary.

the same happened to me once but i was pregnant at the time and taking laxatives???

According to Scrubs - source of all medical knowledge - it's very common to faint on the toilet!

Fainting on the loo is very common (particularly when strainng for a number 2)!

Its called vasovagal syncope if you want to sound flash!
