So, I am not (probably not) pregnant. Why am I being sick then? Some sympathy today please, last time the posts were somewhat on the slim side !

No sickness yet tonight, but neausea, stinking stinking stinking headache.

Been sick on and off since wednesday. yesterday was ok, felt a bit queazy but ok. today, most of the day, felt ok, but dinner did not sit right and it still feels like its sat there.

(But I still feel hungry whats that all about). I just dont get it, and I have had enough. to be honest.

tummy bug?

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 06/04/2008 21:48

you say 'probably not' pregnant in the title have you tested to rule it out?? might be worth a go and if its negative then go the docs and ask him/her for some more advice i second the tummy bug suggestion if you are definitely not preggers
xx ei xx

I dont think so Lissie - its not that kind of sickness, if that makes sense. Its the same feeling as morning sickness, which is why I wondered if I might be pregnant. It comes and goes, and is mainly in the evening, although on thursday was sick at work.

No stomach pains, other than after being sick.

I did originally have a horrid horrid cough with it, and coughing too hard is why I was (or thought I was) sick on wednesday, but since then, I have been sick every day except yesterday and hopefully today. Most of the time I had a coughing fit not too long before being sick, but several times now, no coughing.

And a headache, and peeing a bit more than I usually do.

{grrrrrr]

definately get to the docs.

Pavlovthecat · 06/04/2008 21:50

Ei - I say probably not. Just did another thread about conception on implant, and googled it too, I will do pg test tomorrow, but it appears highly highly unlikely that I can conceive with the implant. But who knows eh?

Could it be a migraine (sickness + headache?)
Oh and sympathies, being sick is vile and don't even start me on headaches...

Pavlovthecat · 06/04/2008 21:57

Dances - did think of migraine. Feels like a migraine today. I do get them from time to time, but not like this, and not for this long. I usually get neausea/occasional sickness for a few hours, occasionally sensitivity to light, but not always, always sensitivity to noise, then a banging headache for a day or two, followed by a day of feeling weary.

I guess, it could be a migraine, different kind? But noise is ok for me right now, as it light, and using the computer? head feels buzzy and tight (that probably makes no sense whatsoever) like a migraine though.

I guess, I should probably get head down and see how I feel in morning. Got work at 8am!

Dances - you suffer from them too?

I get migraines but they change from time to time and I get a slightly different set of symptoms . Bizarrely though I tend to wee more than usual when I get mine - no idea why Thought I'd mention it since you metnion you haev that too - does sound a lot like a migraine to me and something is continually triggerring it as they usually do only last 3 days. Could be anything though. Def get some rest.

. Hope you feel better soon

BigBadMouse · 06/04/2008 22:07
  • btw that is some awful typing I have just done, it isn't your eyes playing up, it's my hand eye co-ordination
Pavlovthecat · 06/04/2008 22:10

Thanks big. its just so weird. I have had migraines before without the banging headache, with spheres across the eyes, wobbles and neausea. Only a couple of times, and in a way they are worse than the normal ones as they leave me spun out for days.

the headaches had been after sickness/at the same time, but today, its just neausea and headache.

probably monday itis

The two main types I get are visual disturbance and inability to judge distances(great when driving), no headache or anything else - lasts 40 mins. No apparent trigger

Headachey, but mainly shakey, nauseaus feeling incredibly off-colour in general - last for 3 days and mainly occurs at weekends (joy ), lots of triggers..poss some form on monday-itis though .

Pavlovthecat · 06/04/2008 22:29

bigbadmouse - I get both of those, almost as you describe! the first I get very rarely, and like you no reason. lasts for anything from hour to a day or so, but I feel really zoned/almost drugged for a good day aferwards. No headache. Never happened when driving luckily!

The second, I can usually tell they are coming as I get a horrid tightness in my head, not pain at first, neausea sometimes vomiting, but not always, if I get to lay down quick enough. Then, after an hour? or so, headache comes in like a hammer to the head, and I have to stay in bed really really really still. Feel like this for a day or two, at least another day feeling drained. Again dont get them very often, no immediate triggers like cheese etc, but probably stress related.

Horrid that yours happens at the weekend, what a waste of weekend! .

This feels so much different to what I usually get with migraines. Unless today its a migraine and the last few days have been something else? Bad luck? who knows.

hope you are feeling better today

Pavlovthecat · 07/04/2008 20:25

Thanks BBM - I went to work feeling a little better than last night, ate a sarnie and bar of chocolate and a cup of coffee, and within half hour had the worst headache ever, nausea, it was very migrainey this time. I came home and slept for 3 hours.

Funny thing is light and sound are not a problem, like usual. And I wonder if the bug thing I had last week triggered it, but is not actually the same thing. As although I had headache last week it was not this intense, and was as a result of being sick, not as well as, if that makes sense.
DH thinks I still got bug though, as I dribbled really really badly when asleep, hair, hand, face bed soaking wet. He had similar bug and dribbled apparantly!

I now have that horrid peaky headache, have only eaten pasta, avoiding dairy, for now. Shame, DH had bought Eclairs when he went to shop, forgot, even though it was his idea to keep food simple!

BigBadMouse · 07/04/2008 21:24

Hmmmm..Chocky and coffee (esp the coffee) can be huge triggers of migraines. Water and weak squash are better - you need to keep hydrated (esp with all that dribbling)

Hmmmmm...come to think of it.... you're not teething are you????

whomovedmychocolate · 07/04/2008 21:26

Pavlov - you sound awfully like someone who has developed food allergies after gastroenteritis - headaches, nausea towards the end of the day are all symptoms.

Cut out dairy and wheat for 24 hours and see if things magically get better.

Sorry you still feel shitty.

Honneybunny · 07/04/2008 22:16

I was so glad to read that you were feeling a bit better today, but that then it all came back again...

How long have you have the implant? Could it be a side effect from that?? I am just asking as I myself have just had a mirena inserted, and am just recovering from the world's worst migraine attack (similar to yours: extreme nausea and headache, and tiredness/exhaustion) which i blame on the mirena, as it is mentioned in the patient info. I seem to think that they have the same hormones, mirena and implant(right?).

Coincidently -just like you- i had a very bad cough over the Easter break as well.... so it might still be some virus (???)

Pavlovthecat · 09/04/2008 20:44

Hi all, thought I would update. Finally got a Drs appt, and he thinks it is a sinus infection. Second one in 6 weeks. He said that the reason I am coughing so badly is the mucous is running into my lungs, and the reason I have been sick so much is that I have most likely swallowed a ton of it too, and continue to do so. That is also why I am having such awful headaches, and why it is getting worse after eating, as my stomach is full of mucous already, and by the end of the evening, my body is just not wanting to deal with it any more.

I have a course of antibiotics to take, again. He is not very forthcoming with what can be done if I get it again...I have had it three times in 6 months...a virus which goes into my sinus'.
Honneybunny - if you read this again - I did read up on implant side effects actually, and the symptoms are consistent. I was just surprised that it came on so quickly given that I have been on the implant for 8 months with no trouble other than pain in my ovaries every now and then. I will not rule it out tho, and see how these antibiotics work.

So, hopefully on the mend, and not teething, but DD is, so maybe sympathy dribbling!
