Have I killed my veruca? WARNING PIC ATTACHED

So I've been treating my very first veruca for approx 2 weeks with Salactol and duct tape .

I'm just wondering how do I know when it's dead and can stop treating it ? It's started to get sore when filing it down now so not sure if I need to persevere a hit more or if it's dead?

Apologies for the pic but I thought it might help with the advice !

Keep painting the white skin around the holey looking part. Otherwise it reacts like you've pruned it, and grows back more vigorously.

Thank you I will keep going and make sure I do the white circle. Desperate for it to be gone!

This isn’t really an answer to your question OP but I would go to a chiropodist if you can & just get it properly treated by them. The photo shows you’re really going down through skin layers, please be careful!

Head on over to Sporner Corner.

You have a verruca twin over there.

But yes, keep going with the treatment.

It's not dead until the central black bit is out and then you have a lovely hole where it was.

medianewbie · 29/05/2024 20:08

It's as @AnnaMagnani says above. You've got a big well established verruca there. I'd go to a chiropodist.

Sprinkles211 · 29/05/2024 20:13

Also agree while it's black it keeps growing back! You will get a pretty decent hole once it's out and gone. I've not had a verruca for some time but I do remember it was pretty painful to remove tbh and took months of perseverance

Fatotter · 29/05/2024 20:22

It’s not dead yet! Keep going.

lulann · 29/05/2024 20:53

I had one like this for years it was a pain.

Agree with others the black bit needs to come out- I used to try and dig it out 🤮

Thankfully it eventually went, I tried old fashioned suggestions as well as the latest solutions.

atticstage · 29/05/2024 20:56

You're just destroying healthy tissue, which is what's causing the pain. You need to see a professional before you do more damage.
