Hit back of my head on car boot door

Basically I'm ridiculous and somehow I've hit the back of my head about 30 minutes ago, I was putting shopping in the boot and thought the boot door had fully opened but it hadn't and as I lifted my head out, I - with some force - hit the boot door. I have had a massive headache now for whole time. Took paracetamol about 5/10 minutes ago. Am I being a wimp? Is there anything else I can do? Ice pack?

Thanks

Ice pack yes, and rest. Close your eyes and lie somewhere quiet. If you get concussion symptoms beyond just a sore head (or if the headache gets worse and worse) get it checked.

I would rest, but if you get nauseous, dizzy, vision disturbances or similar I would get checkout out at urgent care or minor injuries (whatever you have locally).

Most likely just a headache from the knock, but watch out for any concussions signs.

I hope you feel better soon better soon. Ive done similar and it's really painful.

I would think about getting checked out. Hitting the back of your head that hard could possibly cause concussion. At the least make sure you’re not alone and watch out for sickness or dizziness.

As said above and it's worth knowing concussion symptoms can appear upto a week after the head injury so keep an eye and take it easy.

Thank you all. I still have quite the headache despite paracetamol. Will give it a bit longer and try the ice pack.

Assuming you survive, get some new gas struts so it doesn’t happen again. They’re cheap and easy to fit yourself.
