My 5 yr old woke up with his eyes stuck together, looks like conjunctivitis, got some chlorphenicol eye drops from the pharmacist, applied every two hrs. Bit of a struggle getting drops in the eye and we're only on application 3. Just started the heinous task of washing all bedding ,towels etc. any handy helpful tips out there?

don't touch your own eyes!!!!

My dd came home from nursery with the dreaded luminous green gunge - and she loos like she has huge bags under each eye - this will be her 3rd time with gunky eyes and she only started at nursery in january!

Just lots of cleaning with cooled boiled water - and see if you can get ointment instead of drops - stays in their eyes better.

Put eyedrops in with eyes closed. Get ds to open eyes and blink several times - its much easier. Bathe eyes regularly. Also bear in mind the drops will only work if it is bacterial conjunctivitis, if its viral they don't work! dd2 regularly gets viral sort and its a nightmare as its just a waiting game!
