Had a cough for a week. Got worse.
Wednesday coughed so hard I was sick, then carried on being sick for the rest of the evening. Was sick at work after coughing on thursday, about 10 mins after this time, and felt nauseous all day, with a hacking cough all day, sick in the evening, until I thought nothing was left, coughing before, and after, but this time not so much that I thought I would be sick. 4am, woke up feeling sick, coughed, then after a few minutes was sick for about 30 mins.

All day today fine. had lunch, ok. hardly any coughing, then this evening, after no coughing whatsoever, and feeling sick for hour, sick again, this time it really really hurt, very acidic.

I knew this evening I was going to be sick before I felt ill, as I had wanted a glass of wine since about 5pm, then at 7:30pm, I thought, ooooh pour myself a glass, oh, I dont really fancy it, or dinner. less than hour later. Unwell. Furious as really wanted that wine!!!

So, its all very weird. No fever, no stomach pains, apart from now I have emptied my stomach so often.

I just feel unwell, still have a cough but not that bad, but stinking headache, ore throat, no appetite and upset at no wine!!!

Sympathies needed, suggestions welcome but mainly sympathy please!!!

Enormous sympathy, being sick is just horrid.

A couple of suggestions:

  • Really cold water can relax your throat and stop it hurting after you cough, this can help you control the gag reflex.
  • Stop eating for 24 hours and just drink, it should sort you out.
  • When you do go back to eating you may find you have a slight intolerance to milk, alcohol and wheat (bugger!)

Hope you feel better soon

whomovedmychocolate - oh dear, maybe thats been the problem today. Coffee with milk, toast, bread and jam, cake with cream after our walk.

Lunch was ok, then the coffee and cake and bread afterwards just, well sat there.

When you say just drink? Does that mean I can have that wine?!!! lol only joking .

Its very weird as its not like stomach bug sick if that makes sense. its more like morning sickness sick. I first thought on wed that it was due to coughing too much/too hard, but it appears not.

And before you ask, I cant be pg. have implant.

A bit short on the ol sympathy...

. I have, against wmmc advice, eaten two jam tarts. I was feeling very hungry. And I was thinking that if I am going to be sick anyway...why not?

I hope its gone by tomorrow so I can have a glass of wine or manhattan its the weekend

Have decided that a manhattan is medically necessary.

DH has said it is almot guaranteed to make me vomit. But the likelihood is I am going to anyway, I am bored and feel awful, so I shall at least get some enjoyment from it even if does not last. Then I am going to sleep.

Not that anyone cares but I am feeling much better apart from a cough. And the Manhattan I drank has stayed down and was lovely, after the first few sips which burned somewhat .
