Is it possible to have head lice, but not find any with a thorough comb through after a treatment?
My son has been scratching his head lately. We've checked his head and not found any lice or eggs. But his hair is very fair and curly so not sure eggs would be visible.
Today I've had the itchiest scalp ever. My husband checked my hair and saw a few dots that could have been eggs but no lice. Completely white, so the internet says they should be left over cases not incubating ones.
I did a chemical treatment just to be sure. Applied as directed, left on the right amount of time. But when I combed my hair with the nit comb afterwards not a single louse has come out and less than a dozen small specks that could be eggs.
Is it possible this could be head lice, when not a single louse has been seen? Do I just need to wait it out and see if any lice turn up?
