What could this be on my father's face?

He has an appointment coming up with a dermatologist but it's not for weeks and this came up on his face about 4 months ago. We're discussing it now and I thought I'd ask if anybody has any ideas or recognises it. Thank you!

They'll probably whip it off soon enough.

Melanoma.

My dad had this. They’ll cut it out.

There's a smaller one on his nose too

It looks very like my mum's squamous cell carcinoma. It was on her nose. She had it removed (a little bit complicated due to location and required plastic surgery, but all relatively straightforward and a one hour procedure. ) Whatever it is, it will be removed and your dad will be closely monitored. My mum had three more removed over the next few years.

Hope your dad's okFlowers

Squamous cell carcinoma. They will remove it x

Basal cell carcinoma (commonly called a rodent ulcer).

My dad has had a few similar things on his face and they’ve been actinic keratosis and also a basal cell carcinoma. I think the actinic keratosis is a pre cancer but he got cream for that and the basal cell carcinoma was removed. I don’t think it looks like a melanoma.
