Periods when coming off the pill

I am on cerazette, and have decided to come off it, i stopped taking it and 2 days later started bleeding, have been bleeding now for 8 days (normal is 5 days) and i am still flooding off my feet, going through night time towels every 2 hours.

Is this ok? and normal?

I am not sure about normal but my periods were distinctly odd when came off pill - remember having something very similar to you a month or two after stopping (I had been on for years so think it may have taken some time to clear my system) -went on for about 8/9 days and it was a lot of bleeding .

It doesn't sound that surprising but I'd ring NHS direct/your gp to be sure
