Did they do ferritin?

Therageisreal · 09/05/2024 20:04

Ferritin, B12 and vitamin D?

LilacSwimmer · 09/05/2024 20:43

Thank you for replying

No I can't see ferritin on my record. There seem to be several entries for the tests all saying no further action. Unless ferritin is on another entry that I can't see yet as it's being reviewed. I've just picked up these results from the app.

Ferritin comes through with blood count on mine. The results don’t all come through at the same time but for me I can see the test has been requested and I see the result straight away, at the same
time they’re sent to the dr.

Your white blood cells are low which can cause tiredness, it can be caused by low vitamin b12 for low folate or autoimmune diseases like arthritis.

You really need your iron, B12 and folate levels checked.

LilacSwimmer · 09/05/2024 21:01

Thank you. I'll look up what I can do to increase the white blood cell level

Would ferritin be called anything else on the test?

@LilacSwimmer have you got any other symptoms? I'm struggling with fatigue just now as well

LilacSwimmer · 09/05/2024 21:14

Just feel run down. Tired all the time and my skin isn't great at the moment either. I'm trying to eat more healthily as sometimes I grab something quick when I'm tired, which doesn't help.

Is there any chance you've had covid recently. It's not talked about enough but it causes awful fatigue in some people, a really drained feeling. Often goes hand in hand with some brain fog too. Could be lots of things but if your blood tests come back fine then it might be long covid as that doesn't show up on standard blood tests as it's a problem with the mitochondria. Hope you feel better soon either way.
