Is this the right thing to do with hanging off toenail?

DH tripped and fell earlier and his big toenail is now hanging off. It was bleeding quite a lot, so we just cleaned it and bandaged it up tight.

I know the toenail won't "stick" back on, but is there anything else we should do?

I dont think you can go far wrong by keeping it clean & covered up. Has the whole nail come off?

It is still attached. It's just that it all lifts off as if it was hinged at the moon shaped bit IYSWIM.

It gave me the heebie jeebies, so I didn't look too closely.

Ew, not nice. My dh loves to pick at his horrid toenails. I think its good that there is a bit of nail left this will grow back.
