My friend's ds' haven't come through. He's had some treatment involving pealing back the gums and taking out his baby teeth, drilling the bone and other horrible sounding treatment

Anyone heard of this before or had any experience? It's horrible for him

I have one baby tooth left which never came out.

I had an x ray, and there is no adult tooth.

Neither of my children are showing much sign of growing anything more than adult front teeth. The dentist is only mildly concerned about my son (he's 11).

I'm pretty sure DH didn't have all his adult teeth at 12. This is normal, I think. Or within the normal range.

I have 3 baby molars left - no adult ones to replace them.

He hasn't got any. adult teeth, although his adult molars have been uncovered. He has gaps at the front, but the dentist peeled back the gums and fixed chains onto the adult front teeth (??to encourage them down ???) The dentist is saying that he will have to have false teeth if nothing happens by summer.

NQC - surely this is not normal (hence all the treatment) or is it an over-worried dentist???

Bridie3 - perhaps it's different if the front ones have emerged ??? maybe the others will follow iyswim?

wheelybug - at 3 baby molars! I think my friends ds has the adult ones (i assume they must have x-rayed?) because they are trying to dig them out

Yes--it may well make a difference to how dentists view the situation.
