DD 3.1 is regularly waking at night with pains in her right leg (though sometimes has it during day). It is disrupting her sleep and she is obviously in pain with it (very distressed). She saw a consultant at hospital recently for a check up for another problem - also leg area, but we were told that there is nothing wrong with her - her other 'problem' is behavioural. I've been back to GP who says 'don't worry about it' Has anyones dc experienced similar?

Cramp? Sit her up and pull her toe up towards her tummy as firmly as you can (stretches the calf mucle). Hurts like hell but goes very quickly once you stretch the afected muscle.

My ds2 has this, he stated with leg pains at 2.5 the doctors have no idea what it is and have just told us to give a dose of calpol every night before bed. Rubbing his legs when he wakes up or when it hurts in the day generally helps. Often Gps may say its growing pains or non specific pain.
