Any ideas?

It's possibly a Herberden's node which is an early sign of arthritis.

Ganglion cyst maybe?

If you shine a torch through it you will be able to see inside your finger and see where it goes back to your finger joint. Where fluid is leaking out of your joint. Don't burst it (might lead to infection getting into the bone). It should go down over time. I've had a couple and give them a gentle press. If it's close enough to the nail bed you might get a divot in your nail, which isn't noticeable, but you can feel it.

Looks exactly the same as three of my fingers and all tender. XRay confirmed Osteo Arthritis.

Unopenedpackofmenssocks · 30/04/2024 23:45

Interesting, I have something similar. I was working on the Dr Google assumption it was a ganglion cyst and just ignoring it.

It’s not somewhere where you rest your phone is it? I get lumps on my small finger from holding my phone awkwardly.

It looks like nodules caused by arthritis. I have them on my toes and baby finger joint.

Just to add I have the arthritis node things as well on little fingers. For me they are red and slightly swollen all the way round the top of the joint, whereas the ganglion going is very noticeably a hump on my finger.

I agree with arthritis. My GP did an X Ray to confirm.
