Eyebrow hairloss

Have completely lost eyebrow hairs since having my 3 kids. Hair growth has noticeably slowed down on rest of body too.

Been to doctors and checked bloods. Low iron levels, tried supplements, and steroid creams.

Nothing has helped regrowth.
Will it come back? Is there anyone else I could speak to for a second opinion?

Mine have got thinner with age (im 38 and never overplucked in the past). They are showing no signs of growing back.

It's just strange because the hair loss was very sudden. But it has been over a year since they went, so I feel they should have corrected themselves by now if there was any chance they could do.

What has the GP said? Do they think there's no cause for concern?

Iron levels need to be 50 or 70 minimum for growth

Have you had your thyroid checked recently? My hair thinned including eyebrows 2 years ago seemingly after having the baby but turns out I have an under active thyroid!

Have you had your thyroid checked? Although I felt cold and constantly tired, it was only with my eyebrows disappearing I finally took myself off to see GP. Turned out I had underactive thyroid.

Cross post!

Get yr thyroid checked and ask for antibodies blood check. My doctor dismissed me and implied I was pulling them out and so went 6 yrs without been diagnosed even though felt like hell. Exhausted, dry skin, hair coming out. Eyebrow loss is the first symptom of underactive thyroid. Hope this helps and insist on the bloodtest and getting medicated for it. My eyebrow loss is still crap and will maybe get nanobrows done in future, lucky have a fringe so hides the loss.

Thyroid check and don’t get fobbed off with “normal range”. Ask for TSH level, you want it under 3 and ideally under 2.

Miniepie you are so right, my doctor keeps dismissing me even now am on medication and just had blood tests done as have done every few mths and he keeps stating it has to be over 10 to up my meds which is incorrect. It was my menopause doctor who spotted the thyroid issues as I was so exhausted and literally dragging my feet as effort to do anything. Am on such a low dose of meds and want it up as they should also take into consideration the symptoms, brittle nails, hair loss, exhaustion, insomnia etc. They really do make it difficult.

Google Addisons / adrenal insufficiency and ask your GP for an early morning cortisol blood test (needs to be between 8/9am). It’s very rare so chances are it’s not this but hair loss on the body is one of the main symptoms. They won’t have done this blood test as standard.
