My DS 8months old, started vomitting last wednesday night, now having diarrhea not eating not really drinking not even wanting his formula and normally can't get enough of it, and the same for food. Took twice to the GP, just advised to keep pushing fluids but how long will this go on for? Started syringing the diarlyte in tonight he took bout 100ml and then just 5oz of bedtime milk. Thats about what he has had all day! Sorry long thread just fell anxious as this is his first illness he is normally very vocal and bubbly!

are his nappies wet? if so, he'll be ok (I would say see the doc, but you've already done that).

there is a very nasty bug going around - ds2 has just recovered from a week-long one. but it was just a week - hopefully your ds will start feeling better tomorrow.

When my ds had a similar bug at 5 months I was advised to give half-strenght formula, and then quarter strenght if he kept that down.

Don't worry, it sounds ok atm.

(sympathies though, our whole family has had this bug over the last 10 days - it's just horrible)

My DS had a viral bug twice this winter, but neither time lasted longer than 5-6 days, so hopefully you won't have much longer to go. It's really horrible though isn't it. He got very thin

My DD had this at 8 months too. We went to GP and A&E but just told to give fluids- but she wouldn't drink!

She is 12 months now and has just had it for a 3rd time

My sympathies.

Thankyou everyone for your support. he has managed more fluids today but still 3 episodes of very explosive diarrhea. I just hope this will subside soon! What did everyone give for the stomach pains? He woke at 5am crying in pain, i just gave calpol but wondered if there was anything more appropriate for stomach ache? Sympathies to to everyone
