It's mainly his left knee but I can hear his hips too. He doesn't seem to be in pain but I was just wondering.

Obviously check with your gp/hv if you are really worried, but I remember having this with both my dses and my friend noticed it too with her dcs. The gp said (my friend took her first-born there just to check all was ok) said it was totally normal and worries a lot of first-time parents (sorry, don't know if you are ).

Your GP will check your son's hips at the 6 week check.
Don't worry too much though. I remember my DD had very clicky arm joints and that has since resolved itself.

My dd1 clicked all over by the time she was 6wks old - very bizarre. She'd had a query dislocated hip at birth but that turned out to be a false alarm. Our GP couldn't find anything wrong and now she is 20yo she is very loose jointed and supple (she does revolting things with her body! ) so I imagine that is what caused her to click.
