Is this chicken pox? He's only got four spots!

When I did DS nappy mid morning on Sunday he had a spotty botty and just thought it was a mild nappy rash.

But when I collected him from nursery last night they said they thought he might have CP as has one red spot on his knee with a blister in the middle as well as the spots on his bottom.

This morning there are three below it. He has a very slight temp, up just half a degree.

I took him to a drop in clinic this morning and saw (a rather yummy male) nurse who said he was fairly sure it was too.

If his first spots appeared on Sunday, when would I expect all the spots he's going to get, to have appeared?

It's possible to have CP with just a handful of spots - my DS was like this and we only confirmed it when DD had a slightly more convincing outbreak two weeks later.

CP appears in the groin area, trunk and face mostly. I think where it appears is as characteristic as what the spots look like.

When my DD had CP (the worst of my 3 who have had it), her pox appeared over the course of a few hours. We were at a church picnic, and we all watched them emerge as if it was some kind of slow motion filming.

Like science, dd2 had a small outbreak, we thought she'd got off lightly and then had a terrible outbreak a couple of weeks after. SO just keep an eye on it
