Pityriassis rosea…is it normal to be unwell?

Just wondering if anyone else has had this before? My DD 10 has been diagnosed with it, the rash started with the ‘herald’ patch about 2 weeks ago, it’s still spreading…all over her back, neck and front.
She has also been unwell now for over a week, sore throat, cough, tiredness. Is this normal? Everywhere that I’ve read about it, it said you feel unwell before the rash starts, it says nothing about feeling ill while you’ve got the rash.
Any advice would be much appreciated 😊

I had it and felt very fatigued for a few weeks. I also had hot flushes.

My son had it after Covid. He had some cream from the doctors which cleared it up.

Yes - whether it makes you feel unwell or you get it because your immunity is low I do not know, but I was very run down when I had it.

I didn't feel unwell but it took almost a year to get rid of the rash.

Oh no! A whole year 😕 I’m hoping it doesn’t last that long for her. The rash is still spreading though.
luckily she seems to be feeling a bit better, I cancelled all of her out of school activities for this week and have been making sure she gets lots of rest.

I had that when I was about 15. Can't remember feeling poorly, but just in case it's helpful my mum put vitamin e oil on the patches to help them heal.

I told everyone at school I had leprosy because I got fed up with the 'ewww' comments 😂

My daughter is just getting over it now. She felt ill before the herald patch and was more lethargic when the spots were coming and at their worst, and the itching wasn't fun at all. I hadn't heard of it before she got it. It would make sense to that it would make your daughter feel more run down while her body is dealing with this, I hadn't realised how extensive the spots would be. Hope she feels better soon.

I had this many years ago when I was in my first trimester, so difficult to know whether I felt ill and rundown be ause of the Pityriassis or pregnancy. What I do remember is that just as I felt like it was getting worse and would never go away, the herald patch cleared up and took all the other patches with it. It was quite extraordinary.

Sorry, not particularly helpful in terms of your question.
