DD is 4 mo and exclusively BF. I started my period last night. is this normal? Will I still be able to BF DD?

There seems to be no 'normal' on this one at all.
Personally, I didn't get my period back until I stopped BFing altogether when DD was 1.1.
However, I have friends who got theirs back at anything from 4 to 12 months.

Yes, you can still BF your DD.
You shouldn't find any difference there.
(Some people claim to experience a change in the quality of their milk after their period returns, but most people are fine)

The only thing you need to be careful of now is whether you end up with DC2!!!

Oooh I would love to end up with DC2 lol .

I wonder if this has anything to do with DD loosing 5 ounces. I had her weighed today and she is 13lbs 7 ounces. Last week she was 13lbs 12 ounces. Despite her being fed on demand and for as long as she wants.

It could be something to do with it, but that's difficult to judge.
Babies' weight gain is never entirely smooth.
It depends on their growth spurts, activity levels, the condition of their insides, the accuracy of the scales etc etc

As long as your DD is happy, healthy and doing well, I wouldn't worry about it.

You may want to check whether it's an infection for peace of mind. My dd is 5 months and I'd been bleeding on and off since her birth. I got a swab to check whether it was an infection having had bv previously from persistent bleeding. My last test was normal and I've had a period since. I'm still bfing dd. Hope that helps.

Miss Molly, my period started 4 months after DS arrived, he was exclusively BF and we're still BFing at 11 months old. So no need to worry!
