Out of hours records

Saw an out of hours GP yesterday, referred by 111, and she tested various things, then prescribed medication and told me to book to see my own GP asap for particular tests, A&E if got worse . My question is will the notes she wrote show directly on my records at my GP - ? I am hoping they do and had assumed so but wanted to double check.

There used to be specific other, rotating, surgeries referred to on my GP’s website re OOH service, but now it says to call 111 and that the OOH care is provided by the local borough commissioning group. ( The surgery that 111 made the appointment with was very local to me and the OOH GP had all my details. )

The consultation notes are emailed to the surgery and filed in the appropriate GP record. Our reception staff would email them to all the GPs that were in and we would read them too to see what needed following up although it would take a few hours to get to these as it's manic in a GP surgery on a Monday morning.

Thank you for that prompt and comprehensive reply ! That is even more than I expected ie in terms of drawing attention to it rather than just sitting in my notes until I was before whichever GP I managed to see.

Exactly this except they would not be read by a gp unless it was something significant or needed an action. If you needed further treatment then the clinician would read prior or during your consultation.

We read all our OOH reports not just the ones that required action. Depends on the surgery and what their protocols are.
