Dental insurance - worth it or not, any tips, recommendations or things to avoid ...

Have had huge problems with my teeth over the last 18 months - since the last couple of months of my second pregnancy. Have had about 25-30 dental appointments over the last 2 years (two teath removed, re-root canal, crown), was OK when covered due to pregnancy but now paying again. Does anyone have dental insurance - is it worth it, or do 'loopholes' mean you end up paying for dental work anyway?

Have always gone for regular check ups but doesn't appear to have prevented the mess my mouth is now in.

Do you have insurance for the whole family?
