I had this last June. Mine was an ear infection following a cold... the infection cleared up with antibiotics, but the deafness (with added tinnitus just to add to the fun) lasted almost a month. It did go in the end, but very very slowly. The doctor suggested sucking sherbet lemons because (apparently) they make you salivate a lot (... all they do for me is take the roof of my mouth off, but never mind) and that helps to clear the blocked tubes. He also suggested sudofed, which helped slightly. Luckily mine was only in one ear. Hope yours gets better soon.

i was taking sudafed for two weeks prior to the deafness and the doctor didnt think it was infected shall try the sherbets
