High heart rate, asthma and beta blockers

As in title I have a high heart rate, asthmatic and also have a lot of singular ectopic beats and have an appointment with a cardiologist next week.
I'm assuming I will be put on beta blockers? I have read asthmatics shouldn't take beta blockers so wondering if anyone here is asthmatic and take beta blockers and how it affects you?
Is there an alternative to beta blockers for asthmatics?

Hi, I'm prescribed beta blockers for anxiety - take them when I need them - and I'm asthmatic.
No problems so far but no one had said anything to me either

I have asthma. Take a low dose of beta blockers, have done for years. They don't affect my asthma but am aware that it's possible. My GP has checked this out in the past.

Thank you for your replies, reassuring to hear someone else's experience and that it hasn't affected your breathing/asthma
A few other questions!.. Are beta blockers a long term thing for you or are they temporary?
Do they affect any other medication you are on? I am on thyroid medication so just wondering..
Can you drink alcohol whilst on them?'
