My 2 dd's have a a virus/bug that started with a sore head. Had sore head, neck(eekk), temp., and generally off colour. I'm very sympathic as I have it too!

I would get him checked out belcant - it may be nothing but if instinct tells you he is not himself then why not get a second opinion - better than worrying.

This virus has swept around my children's school and my ds has been in bed for two days now with it. Lots of calpol, fluids and rest, I think.

oh thank you i feel a bit better now for hearing it seems to be doing the rounds. he doesnt have a rash and lights dont seem to bother him but not sure if his neck hurts. he is autistic and doesnt usually feel pain so it must be bad . cant get him to take any kind of medicine at all and he insists on having full duvet, blankets and hot water bottle as usual the silly boy

cocolepew- how long does it last?

dh is at the bloody pub and conveniently appaers to have left his mobile in his briefcase so cant get hold of him to tell him to come home.

my ds had this on boxing day, fine one minute and the next raging temp and a painful headache (literally fine one minute ill the next) dosed him up on calpol and nurofen,s ent him to lie down, he was ok in a hour, i think its just a weird virus thing. The headache will be a side effect of the temp so u need to get that down, if it doesnt go down after medicine, then take him the out of hours, (my ds has just visited there)

eandh · 28/03/2008 19:34

sounds just like dd1 I work on Fridays but MIL phoned and went to get her, boiling to touch, high temp and got headache, nurofen resolved the temp but shes gone to bed now

loopylou6 · 28/03/2008 19:35

B he must take some medicines, the fever needs to come down, can u put some in a drink?

cocolepew · 28/03/2008 19:41

My DD1 had it with vomiting, since last Friday. Lasted about 2weeks in me and dd2, but on and off IYKWIM. sHE'S HAPPY TO GO AND PLAY OUT THEN THE NEXT DAY IS LYING ON THE SOFA AGAIN. mY APPETITE HAS BEEN RUBBISH, SO DON'T EXPECT HIM TO WANT T EAT MUCH. hOPE HE'S BETTER SOON.

cocolepew · 28/03/2008 19:42

OOPPS[BLUSH] .Sorry

brimfull · 28/03/2008 19:46

seems to be doing the rounds here as well

ds 5 has been complaining of a headache since I picked him up from school and has no appetite, really quiet etc.

I am assuming it's just a virus.

belcantavinissima · 29/03/2008 09:05

he seems much better this morning. no headache now but still not eating much. he is up and playing though so i guess thats a good sign.

oh dear bless him he has come down all poorly again, just put him to bed. he is ragingly hot and has a head ache again. he managed to eat a couple of jam tarts but thats been about it. . sounds like from what you all say it could drag on a while. v annoying when you have 3 dc and you just KNOW they are gonna get it one after another so you end up housebound for about a month and a half!

unfortunately this seems to be how it goes, you think they're getting better, when they come over all poorly again.

belcantavinissima · 30/03/2008 12:55

ok dont want to curse it but he slept last night from 4.30 yesterday afternoon til about 7.30 this morning and fingers crossed he seems ok. he is being mischievous and cute and has been eating. hurrah! ds1 appears to be a bit unwell now which is a nuisance as we had all planned to go on a train trip to the beach today now it looks as tho i will have to stay behind with him.
