Mild facial pain with a cold

Spindelina · 29/03/2024 12:35

Whenever I get a cold, the right side of my face hurts. Feels like I've got sunburn or something like that. It's usually my first symptom and not long-lasting.

I'm not concerned, it's been like this for years, but interested.

Could it be that something is inflamed and putting some pressure on my trigeminal nerve?

Anyone else have this?

Every time I get a cold I always get Toothache so I assume it’s to do with Trigeminal Nerve either pressure or inflammation caused by the cold.

Could be your sinuses.

fluffycloudalert · 29/03/2024 12:55

I think it could be sinus-related as well, or so my dentist tells me. Apparently, I have very deep-rooted teeth that go up into the sinus cavity, so whenever I get a cold, the build up of pressure in the sinus gives me toothache.

The reason I've not thought sinuses is that it's my skin that hurts - nothing deeper than that. It feels like it's going to be agony if I touch it... but then it isn't. Really weird sensation!
