Babies with bad breath!

DD's breaths smells funny. Not really very pleasant! I want to say it smells of ketones, but I'm not sure that it is that. DS's breath was always sweet. No food affects it, no obvious reason for it. No build up on tongue. Anyone els had this?

My ds often gets stinky breath just before he comes down with something like a cold or virus. Don't know why but would also like to know!¬

Yes I can smell on DS's breath when he's not well. DD perfectly healthy otherwise afaik, and has been like this a good couple of weeks.

How old is she flossish? Could it be a tooth infection?

warthog · 27/03/2008 19:20

is it possible there's some food stuck up her nose?

flossish · 27/03/2008 19:22

Sorry she is 6 months, cutting teeth. Gums look fine.

Warthog, I couldn't say it was impossible, but well, she's not choked badly on any food yet. She does have a 3 yr old brother so I can't 100% vouch for him. If she did though wouldn't it bother her? It would bother me...!!

i don't know! i just read somewhere that if your baby's breath smells a bit, it's possible there's a pea / chip / snail up there somewhere. you'd think it can't be pleasant...
