High blood pressure and now on meds

Prescribed 100mg losartan and 10mg amlodipine.
Feeling nervous of side effects after taking my first dose tonight.
Just wondering of other's experience.
Tonight my bp was 177/122 which is higher than usual, I also have a banging headache.

My BP was 212/120 when I was first started on meds back in November 2022. Losartan has always been great for me, works well & no side effects.

Amlodipine caused swollen ankles & bleeding gums for me. Although others get no side effects at all.

Unless you have been advised to stop doing your own BP.. No good comes from using medical equipment yourself imo.
I take BP meds and have recently undergone lots of tests... Time to relax now or you will drive yourself nuts op.

My advice is to take the medication and not check BP unless you feel unwell. It’s a vicious circle. The more you check BP the higher it goes.
Check in a few days time when feeling relaxed and ignore the first couple of readings. Keep a record of your readings and if BP still consistently high contact GP .
