Ds2 is only 2 but has infrequent episodes of shaking, the only way I can describe it is, it's like when you get a shiver down your back but it lasts longer, never over 30 seconds or so. All of him just quivers.

He had one this am so I rang the GP, she decided to ref. him just incase. Now I am
pooing my pants.

What should I expect at the hospital? I went in today expecting to be told not to worry

I feel terrible for not taking him in sooner, he had a few when he was little but quite a lot since x-mas

My DS had this a few times. I first put it down to being cold but then realised it might be more serious.
In our case it was just behavioural, there were no underlying reasons for it and he has stopped it.

He looks scared when it happens and he goes chalk white

Thats different to mine then, my DS would just shake and look worried, but not go pale or cold.
I hope you get to see someone soon.

DS2 has seizures, though they are fully under control with epilim. Is it the tests (EEG and MRI)they do that you are worried about?xx

OhBurger · 27/03/2008 20:40

i dont know what to expect at the hospital, what tests etc.

they may do a simple blood test, or if it's the eeg then they will put like a thing with wires on his head - is NOT painful or scarey for him, though may annoy him after a while! Then if it's like with my ds they try to get them to go to sleep so they can check the kind of goings on in the brain and get a print out. Sorry am not explaining this at all well. Am forgetting the proper words.

With his MRI they gave him some medicine and after 30 mins he went to sleep. They wheeled him down for an MRI which took about 20 mins - i sat in the room too and it is soooo noisy! - he of course blissfully unaware of anything!

Hope this helps. Our hosp was brilliant and so caring, please try not to worry too much, easier said than done I know xx
