If you had nasal polyps did you know before your scan?

Just wondering if you thought it was that before your scan with ENT. I'm assuming that's how you found out you had them.

I have awful sinus pain and frequent sinusitis..I think something is not working properly in a sleipoint behing my left cheek. I wonder if it is a nasal polyp or just a thin tube. I've been referred to ENT who will hopefully give me a scan and I'd like them to do an allergy test but not sure if they would. I have no idea how long the wait is and I'm just curious and impatient about it so it would be nice to hear others experiences.

Thanks

I had a nasal polyp about 15 years ago. Developed when I was pregnant. Mine was a constant blocked nose and polyp would bleed. No sinus issues.GP didn't diagnose a polyp and gave me a nasal wash, obviously didn't do anything. I made an appointment with a private hospital and was told I had a polyp and was booked in for surgery the next week. I can't remember if I got a scan though.
