Mole swollen - should I be worried? (Pictures of mole)

Hi everyone,

A couple of years ago, when I got pregnant for the first time (I'm pregnant again), one of the moles on my stomach started swelling when it used to be flat. I didn't think much of it as I read that hormones could do that, but today I read that when that happens, the mole usually gets back to its old shape within a year, and now I'm freaking out.

These are pictures of a similar mole I have that used to look exactly like the one that is now swollen and the picture of what the mole looks like now on my stomach.
Could it be something serious? I read about melanoma and I'm really worried now.

Thank you

I think the fact you've had it two years like that and you haven't had any other symptoms means it's unlikely to be a melanoma. I would make an appointment with your GP to get it looked at just for your own peace of mind.

Dh has a similar one on his neck. It has definitely grown but other than that not different (still the same colour and shape). He saw a dermatologist about a different one which was removed (mixed colours, raggedy edges) but turned out to be fine. Dermatologist said 'surveillance', which is essentially dh taking a pic every 3 months or so, but to go back with change in shape or colour.

If you're worried though I agree with pp you're best to get checked, I don't think anything else would settle your mind.
